Job Description

A BS Degree in Chemistry or Organic Chemistry is required with 03 years of laboratory experience


The applicant should be willing and able to handle heavy 40 lb) objects and work with potentially toxic chemicals radioactivity cell cultures and laboratory animals. Training will be provided as needed.


Direct interactions with all members of the research team. Location: MGH main campus and Shriners Hospitals for Children Boston (formerly Shriners Burns Hospital). Uneven work load averaging 40 hours per week.

Bulfinch Temporary Service is hiring a Research Assistant to work at MGHs Department of Surgery. The position begins ASAP and is 40 hours per week with flexible hours. Please note this position is temporary in nature and not eligible for benefits.


Molecular Pharmacology and Pharmacological Imaging (MPPI)

The objective of this position is to assist MPPI in syntheses isolation and characterization of various macromolecular therapeutic (experimental chemotherapeutics and biopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment).

The work includes:

Synthesis fractionation and isolation of various polymers primarilysemisynthetic hydrophilic polyals


Synthesis purification and characterization of polymer conjugates with chemotherapeutic moieties


Radiolabeling with positron emitting radionuclides suitable for PET imaging and with fluorophores suitable for photoimaging


Participation in cell culture and animal experiments where the obtained compounds are used.


Assistance with lab logistics


Methods: synthetic chemistry (aqueous and nonaqueous media) liquid chromatography; HPLC; dynamic LLS; fluorescence and UV/Vis spectroscopy PET and CT imaging fluorescence microscopy etc.
