Summary Description:
This position is responsible for processing payable records for both vendor accounts carrier accounts and gross driver payroll. The ideal candidate will have a supportive teamoriented mindset and take the lead to ensure our financial systems are kept current and accurate.
Responsibilities Include:
- Accurately process and record invoices for payment.
- Transitioning vendors to electronic payments or other virtual payments.
- Maintain controls over paying vendors as close to listed due date as possible without being late.
- Own vendor relationships and act as primary point of contact for vendors.
- Reporting variances of spend and variances to budget to Controller.
- Accurately process and calculate driver pay records.
- Accurately process driver deduction records.
- Maintaining driver pay contracts and ensuring pay contract schedules are up to date.
- Maintain documented policies and procedures.
- Additional office responsibilities and other support tasks as required.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Excellent time management and deadline management.
- Above average Excel & Word skills for creating and managing extensive detailed spreadsheets and reports.
- Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems.
Personal attributes:
- Attention to detail deadlineoriented computer savvy a process improver.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Selfstarter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively to solve problems.
Experience & Education:
- Degree in Accounting/Finance desirable.
- CPA eligible candidate preferred.
- 2 years of Accounting experience in a diverse and complex environment.
- Experience in the transportation industry highly desirable.
- Knowledge of TMW or TruckMate software is a plus but not required.
