Who are we looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is passionate about making a real differencein the lives of children and young people in Out of Home Care.With exceptional relationship building skills you willsucceedinworking as part ofa care team withchildren and young peopleFoster Carers AnglicareSA Child Protection and Out of Home Care programsthe Department for Child Protection and other professionals on a daily basis.

You will use your cultural humility knowledge of childand adolescentdevelopment and the impact of trauma to support and promoteculturally safe and therapeutic care environments where children and young people are supported toheal andthrive.

What can you expect to be doing

  • Work as part of a supportive team of Placement Support Workers and Cultural and Therapeutic Practitioners to deliver services tochildren young people and their Carersin the northern metro and outer regions of Adelaide
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to apply cultural knowledge and expertise which result in best outcomes for First Nations and culturally and linguistically diverse children and young people
  • Use your assessment and organisational skills to coordinate strengths based trauma informed service delivery and meet key performance indicators
  • Work collaboratively with other service providersfacilitating a holistic service approachto families children and young people in Out of Home Care

What do you need to bring

  • Experience working with families and childrenand young peoplein a community services setting
  • Knowledge of Child Protection and Out of Home Care systems and legislation
  • Demonstrated strength in cultural humility

Qualifications / Special Conditions

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work
  • National Police Check (NPC) / Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Safe Environments for Children and Young People (Mandated Reporting certification)
  • Australian Drivers Licence
