Reporting to the SVP of Cloud Optics the Distinguished Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of engineering design and transfer to production advanced optics products for nextgeneration data center and AI market segments.What You Can Expect
Marvell is seeking a Distinguished Engineer OptoMechanical to contribute to the development of integrated optical interconnects used in optical communications. These optical interface multichip modules are tightly coupled with our highperformance signal processing products. The results of our innovative designs have made our products best in class for coherent longhaul and metro systems as well as PAM4 data center systems.
In this role you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of innovative optical packaging solutions for Marvell Cloud Optics products
Conceive and Manage development of novel optical interconnect packaging technologies for lowloss and lowcost through optical/mechanical design and modeling of photonic chip coupling interfaces.
Analyze the performance of optical assemblies with a focus on the optical/electrical/mechanical/thermal performance and reliability.
Definition and coordination of test programs for purposes of design verification and product qualification.
Implementation of design changes to enhance product quality improve manufacturability and/or reduce manufacturing cost.
Perform/coordinate failure analysis work and determine corrective actions.
Collaborate crossfunctionally with hardware design system architecture silicon and layout teams to optimize optomechanical design based on the simulation data and measurements.
Provide implementation guidelines and feedback to silicon platform and hardware design group for optomechanical integrity.
What Were Looking For
Masters degree inComputer ScienceElectrical Engineeringor related fields with 12 years of experience or PhD in ComputerScience ElectricalEngineering or relatedfields with 10 yearsof experience both with a proven track record of designs in high volume production.
15 years of experience with optomechanical assemblies.
15 years of experience with highspeed fiber optic networking.
Possesses strong fundamentals in optical modeling ideally both in dielectric waveguides and freespace.
Possesses strong fundamentals in mechanical tolerancing.
Familiarity with highspeed digital communications communication theory device physics and circuit operations.
Familiarity with thermal modeling.
Experience with data processing and statistical analysis.
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to effectively collaborate with crossfunctional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
Expected Base Pay Range (USD)
$ per annumThe successful candidates starting base pay will be determined based on jobrelated skills experience qualifications work location and market conditions. The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.
