Job Description

My team is working on an exciting opportunity with a medical device company thats revolutionizing heart failure treatment. As they expand theyre looking for a Controller to oversee accounting & financial operations including reporting billing and revenue recognition.

This role offers a chance to make a big impact on a growing team. You will get to lead a team be a decisionmaker and play a key part in this growing organization. They work a hybrid schedule and offer a competitive comp package!

  • Manage the daily activities for accounts payable accounts receivable inventory management and become the owner of the general ledger.
  • Preparation of monthend and quarterend financial reporting for the division as well as to the parent company including the consolidation of all subsidiaries.
  • Work to increase accuracy and timeliness in reporting as the Company grows and scales rapidly including the enhancement of existing software or identifying new software.
  • Oversee purchasing function and maintain relationships with key external vendors and partners.
  • Support key operational and compliance processes and programs.
  • Support yearend audits and tax filings prepared by third party auditors or consultants.
  • Coordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies as the company scales commercially.
  • Assist with the implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Assist with the evaluation of new technical accounting standards that apply to the business including revenue recognition lease accounting and R&D expense tracking.
  • Lead and inspire a team to achieve high performance and meet departmental objectives.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for team members and provide regular feedback.
  • Adapt and respond to changing needs of the department as it scales.
  • Onboard and mentor new team members as the department expands.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting
  • 5 years of progressive accounting management experience
  • Experience in budgeting planning financial and operational reporting
  • High level of ability with spreadsheets and other analytical tools
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Ability to create and maintain cooperative team building relationships
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Experience supporting HR functions
