Chestnut Park Rehabilitation and Nursing located in Oneonta NY is seeking Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA)!
Position Type: FullTime or Per Diem
Salary Range: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities of a COTA:
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists (OT) to create individualized rehabilitation plans aimed at improving residents functionality and quality of life.
- Implement therapy activities that are designed to meet the unique needs and capabilities of each resident under the guidance and supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).
- Assist residents in performing daily activities helping them build independence and engage in meaningful tasks to enhance their wellbeing.
- Monitor residents progress during therapy sessions offering support motivation and encouragement to achieve therapy goals.
- Educate residents on the proper use of specialized equipment and assistive devices to promote independence and improve function in daily life.
- Supervise therapy activities to ensure the safety efficacy and proper implementation of therapy interventions.
- Maintain accurate records by documenting residents progress treatment sessions and outcomes in the facilitys rehabilitation software.
- Communicate with OTR/L about residents progress concerns and adjustments needed to treatment plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
Qualifications for COTAs:
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
- Current and valid New York State OTA License.
- Experience in a longterm care or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with residents families and interdisciplinary teams.
- A compassionate and patientcentered approach to therapy and resident care.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
