Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement operational strategies that align with longterm objectives.
- Team Management: Lead the facility fostering a culture of safety high performance professional growth quality and continuous improvement.
- Operational Oversight: Manage production safety quality control and delivery of products or services ensuring they meet company standards.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify areas of inefficiency and develop strategies to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
- Financial Management: Oversee the operations budget ensuring resources are used efficiently and financial targets are met.
- Risk Management: Identify potential operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to protect company assets and ensure business continuity.
- Stakeholder Relations: Maintain strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure cohesive business operations.
- Safety Management: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards creating a safe work environment for all associates.
- Managing External Relationships: Oversee and enhance relationships with commercial partners equipment manufacturers etc.
- Enterprise Perspective: Maintain a broad understanding of how various operational aspects contribute to the overall success of the company.
- Other JobRelated Duties and Special Projects: Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities which may vary according to the needs of the organization.
Education Training and Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in business administration Operations Management or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in operations management including at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Proven track record in strategic planning team leadership and financial management.
- Experience within a steel manufacturing distribution or related environment.
- Technologically savvy with experience in MS Office products and Windowsbased computer applications.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Requirements
- Deep knowledge of industry standards and operational procedures.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and other relevant operational software.
- Capability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
- P&L knowledge or BvA (budget vs. actual) experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Masters degree in Business Administration or related field.
- Professional certifications such as PMP or Six Sigma.
- Advanced skills in data analysis and performance metrics.
Additional
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
- Must be able to travel occasionally and work at an outside location.
