At the present time vacancies exist for summerInstructional Assistants exist for an MEP schoolbased campus in Philadelphia within the Migrant Education Program (MEP) Student Services Division of the CCIU. These positions will work with migrant children in Philadelphia for the duration of the summer only.

Qualifications:

High School diplomarequired
Enrolled in college or some collegepreferred
Bilingual speakingrequired (Spanish or Qeqchi)
Experience working with bilingual/bicultural studentspreferred
Experience working with preschool elementary middle and/or high school studentspreferred
Basic computer knowledge preferred
Must have Act 33 and 34 Clearances
Must have Federal Criminal History record

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist with implementation of summer supplemental educational programs for preschool elementary middle and/or high school migrant students residing in in Philadelphia Delaware Montgomery and Bucks counties.
2. Work with students oneonone and in small groups to provide academic support
3. Assist with regular communication with Migrant Education Program staff and families
4. Attend summer inservice family meetings and weekly staff meetings
5. Support family involvement in the education of their children through translation/interpretation information sharing training and referrals

Estimated Schedule:
Monday Thursday 6 hours/day 8 AM 2:30 PM)
Prep Day: June 15th
Program Dates: June 23rd July 24th

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you toreference.

0 9yrs experience $18.35
10 13yrs experience $20.16
14 17yrs experience $21.97
18 21yrs experience $23.78
22 25yrs experience $23.78
*Bachelors degree isequivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale $18.35
*Masters degree isequivalent to 15 yrsexperience on the scale $21.97
