Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough geotechnical investigations site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate ground conditions and offer tailored recommendations for engineering ventures.
- Prepare meticulous geotechnical reports encompassing insightful interpretations of site investigations comprehensive analysis of geotechnical data and wellfounded design proposals.
- Execute geotechnical analyses utilizing cuttingedge software and methodologies including but not limited to slope stability analysis foundation design and numerical modeling.
- Provide adept technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical personnel fostering professional growth within the team.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with clients contractors and regulatory bodies to ensure strict adherence to project requirements and pertinent regulations.
- Actively engage in project meetings site visits and inspections as deemed necessary to uphold project integrity.
- Contribute to the firms business development initiatives including but not limited to proposal formulation client presentations and networking endeavors.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends technologies and advancements in geotechnical engineering integrating relevant knowledge into project deliverables.
- Hold a Bachelors degree (BSc/BEng) in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering or a related field.
- Possess Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) or eligibility to obtain such registration.
- Bring to the table a minimum of 5 years of handson experience in geotechnical engineering with a specific focus on the Transport sector.
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of soil and rock mechanics underpinning the foundation of successful geotechnical projects.
- Showcase expertise in designing foundations for various structures slope stabilization techniques ground improvement methodologies and earthworks and retention structure design.
- Proficiency in foundation and pile design settlement analysis earth pressure calculations slope stability assessments and bearing capacity evaluations is highly advantageous.
- Exhibit proficiency in geotechnical analysis and design software to effectively execute project requirements.
- Possess exemplary communication skills both verbal and written coupled with strong collaborative abilities to thrive in a teamoriented environment.
