Job Summary:
The Cambridge Public Schools (CPS) is a diverse urban school district enrolling approximately 7000 students in grades kindergarten through high school. The district has twelve elementary schools four upper schools and one comprehensive high school which includes a school of technical arts.
The Food & Nutrition Services Department supports the mission of CPS by providing high quality meals using local and wholesome ingredients to the students of Cambridge so they are well nourished and ready to learn. The Clerk Specialist must be able to deal tactfully and effectively with members of the Cambridge community as well as vendors. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Food & Nutrition Services or designee the Clerk Specialist is responsible for processing vendor invoices tracking data in department software and spreadsheets reconciling cash and performing edit checks. The specialist should be a selfstarter who thrives is a highvolume work environment and is skilled at managing competing priorities.

The incoming Clerk Specialist for Food & Nutrition Services will possess many though perhaps not all of the following characteristics and qualifications:
The successful candidate will exhibit excellent attention to detail possess exceptional customer service and communications skills (both verbal and written) and have the ability to work independently to prioritize tasks to meet department deadlines.
Terms of Employment:
Full time position 12 months/year 40 hours/week).
