POSITION SUMMARY

The Graduate Assistant will serve as a broadcaster for the Benedictine Raven Sports Network (BRSN) as a playbyplay broadcaster or broadcast analyst for a variety of sports specifically for but not limited to football mens or womens basketball and baseball or softball. Additional opportunities will include womens volleyball mens or womens soccer mens wrestling and mens or womens lacrosse playbyplay as well as serving as a studio host for a variety of shows to help promote Raven Athletics at Benedictine College.

Graduate Assistants act as helpers to their departments students or professors in a research or administrative capacity. Their primary responsibilities include assisting with various administrative tasks organizing campus events and conducting various research tasks.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in preparing and organizing live broadcasts of sporting events
  • Collaborate with the production team to gather and edit footage for highlight reels
  • Contribute to the creation of engaging sportsrelated content for various media platforms
  • Support in conducting research and interviews to enhance sports coverage
  • Coordinate with onair talent and technical personnel to ensure smooth of broadcasts
  • Participate in all staff meetings
  • Responsible for complying with the rules and regulations of the NAIA as it relates to the program
  • Represent Benedictine College and the program in a professional manner
  • Responsible for being a proponent of the NAIA Champions of Character Program
  • Duties as assigned.

Academic Requirement(s)

Must be fully admitted in a Masters Degree program at Benedictine College

  • Strong passion for sports and sports broadcasting
  • Knowledge of video editing software and production techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
  • Pursuing or holding a degree in journalism broadcasting communications or related field
  • Outstanding work ethic
  • Knowledge of and commitment to NAIA rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire studentathletes to develop to their fullest potential
  • Outstanding skills in oral and written communication
  • Good organizational ability and computer competency.
