Having opened its first office more than 20 years ago this organization is now the largest physicianled outpatient medical practice in the greater NYC metro area. In addition to robust primary care offerings they also operate specialty service lines in cardiology pediatrics obstetrics and gynecology allergy and immunology dermatology and more. Their large staff of physicians nurse practitioners and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members utilizing resources such as onsite laboratory services.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This is an excellent opportunity for an ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in surgical retina to provide highquality ophthalmology services including but not limited to diagnosis treatment coordination of care preventive care and health maintenance.
Specific duties of the role include but are not limited to:
evaluate diagnose and provide treatment for a variety of vitroretinal conditions
treat retinal diseases such as diabetic retinopathy macular degeneration etc.
review patient histories
perform retinal examinations
order / interpret tests (OCT photos fluorescein angiograms etc.
evaluate diagnose and provide appropriate treatment and patient care
recommend suitable management including preventive health recommendations and habits
prescribe medications and formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans
collaborate with PCPs and internal / external optometrists and ophthalmologists
provide relationshipcentered care taking into account psychosocial and physical needs
communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care
participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings
The new ophthalmologist will perform officebased procedures and weekly outpatient surgical procedures including:
intravitreal injections
focal and panretinal photocoagulation
laser of retinal tears
pars plana vitrectomy
scleral buckling
epiretinal membrane peeling
macular hole repair
A variable number of patients per day are seen based upon provider preference for patient volume and types of appointments scheduled.
All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.
The practice utilizes the Epic EHR.
REQUIREMENTS:
New York medical license
DEA
Board Certification / Eligibility Ophthalmology
Fellowship Retina
1 year experience preferred
