The CPS SOARS! program is a fourweek summer learning experience for current grade K4 students with demonstrated academic need. The program operates across two sites. Each classroom will have one teacher one paraprofessional and up to 20 students during instructional time. Each classroom will have up to two paraprofessionals during enrichment time.
The CPS SOARS! paraprofessional under the direction of the CPS SOARS! Principal will be responsible for:
Collaborating with the classroom teacher to provide a fun safe themebased summer learning experience that promotes high expectations for all students;
Supporting literacy and math instruction with teacher guidance using district provided curriculum (LitCamp) and intervention materials;
Supporting classroom setup clean up and maintaining the classroom environment;
Supporting enrichment activities
Facilitating food service delivery and pick up;
Monitoring and supporting students during lunch recess and dropoff/pickup;
Supporting students during local field trips and special events; and
Other duties as assigned

There will be two shifts available for paraprofessionals to work during the 2025 summer program:
Location(s): KennedyLongfellow and Peabody elementary schools
MinimumRequirements:
CPS SOARS! paraprofessionals must have the ability to support students with a range of learning needs in multiage classrooms. Associates degree or higher and experience working with children in urban environments strongly preferred. Priority will be given to regularly appointed paraprofessionals from Cambridge Public School District.

July 1 2025 through August 1 2025
Contract Amount
Not to exceed $350
Not to exceed $4830.00
Please note that your hourly rate is dependent upon your collective bargaining agreement or individual hourly rate. If you are a nonexemptemployee and have worked more than 40 hours a week you will be paid time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours.
