JOB DESCRIPTION
The Plant Senior Specialist & Quality Engineering Define develop modify apply and implement quality evaluation control systems and protocols. Able to work to improve processes through statistical and data analysis and support Quality Inspectors/Technicians to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system. The applicant shall be able to effectively communicate program status and compliance to both internal and external customers. Interface with customer quality representatives for communicating root causes and corrective actions. Review of program contract requirements and provide clear communication and flow down of program quality requirements to all affected disciplines (Engineering Operations Program Management).
DUTIES
- Develops modifies implements and maintains quality plans for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and being met in all phases of the program lifecycle from program capture (proposals) to program closure.
- Ensures all program quality requirements are met through the program life cycle.
- Primary point of contact for program quality.
- Identifies and reports on program status and manages cost to budget.
- Work with Program Management Engineering Suppliers and Manufacturing to ensure a smooth transition from concept to prototype to production.
- Perform Contract review for Quality requirements and implement appropriate actions to fulfill those requirements such as Quality plans FAI (First Article Inspection) Customer PDR CDR reviews and Customer audits and act as final review and signoff for product shipments to the Customer.
- Develops staffing and basis of estimate for new business proposals.
- Assures contractual work products are completed and delivered on time.
- Primary program quality interface with customer and internal management for reviews and presentations.
- Chairing material failure and anomaly review boards (MRB FRB ARB).
- And other duties as required.
This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance PostStart is required.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
- Experience with Configuration Control Management.
- Proven ability to lead teams.
- Have worked in a participating in ISO9001/AS9001 Quality Management System Environment.
- Working knowledge of IPCA610 IPAA620 NASASTD8739.1 2 3 4 or JSTD001.
- Strong organizational abilities and good communication skills
- Fluent in English.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in Product Assurance.
- Experience in leading Program Quality Engineering teams on large government defense programs projects with direct responsibilities in the following.
- Familiar with writing Basis of Estimates (BOE) and supporting Proposal activity.
- Strong communication skills reporting to senior leaders within the organization and customers.
- Knowledge and experience in key Quality functions such as quality planning contract review creating quality procedures and documentation inspection root cause corrective and preventive actions MRB/nonconforming disposition internal and external process audits and assessments and CCB process.
- Strong data analytics experience trending quality performance history and project management skills to lead process improvement.
- Lean / Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
- Experience with performing Failure Analysis (FA) and Construction Analysis (CA) utilizing the necessary electrical tests and measurements.
- Familiar with or experience with the assembly of complex mechanisms and assemblies.
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T) and APQP.
- Experience working with Reliability Survivability and Components Engineering.
- The estimated travel is less than 20.
