Job Description

Brosnan Risk Consultants is searching for an experiencedLitigation Paralegal to assist Sr. VP Risk and Compliance with litigation matters claims administration and miscellaneous insurance issues. Will work closely with insurance adjusters and outside counsel to bring claims and suits to closure. Will oversee Workers Compensation Nurse First program. Must be able to work independently and in a fastpaced environment.


Responsibilities

  • Perform a full range of legal support tasks and support special projects as needed.
  • Maintain litigation database
  • Work closely with insurance broker and agencies
  • Assist with process for various types of legal documents.
  • Maintain and process legal invoices.
  • Assist in performing legal research and benchmarking. Prepare memos charts and tables as needed.
  • Perform a full range of legal support tasks and support special projects as needed.
  • Interface with internal groups (e.g. Sales Finance Accounting) to provide corporate information.
  • Conduct investigations regarding claims
  • Assist outside counsel in gathering documents interviewing witnesses and responding to discovery

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • Minimum 3 years paralegal experience with at least two years working as an inhouse corporate paralegal.
  • Experience with litigation and insurance defense
  • Possess good judgment and the ability to make decisions that balance priorities of the business and legal teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly with minimal training and to contribute immediately in a challenging and fast paced environment.
  • Diligence in completing projects from beginning to end in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy and minimal supervision.
  • Possesses a high level of professionalism integrity reliability discretion and confidentiality.
  • Very strong attention to detail and followthrough; excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; team player
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the company
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in reporting claims and communicating with adjusters and outside counsel
