Has the primary responsibility for directing and coordinating the various benefits programs at Northside Hospital.

Position Summary:

The Manager Benefits Administration is responsible for the strategic direction and coordination of the benefits programs at Northside Hospital. This role involves managing employee and retiree health welfare and retirement benefits ensuring compliance with regulations and leading a team to deliver exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Benefits Management:
    • Manage and oversee all employee and retiree health welfare and retirement benefits programs.
    • Develop and implement process redesign and strategies for short and longrange objectives.
    • Analyze program metrics research trends and recommend improvements for competitiveness and costeffectiveness.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Hire train orient counsel evaluate and manage the benefits team.
    • Provide leadership and direction to benefits and call center staff.
  • Vendor and Compliance Management:
    • Manage relationships with carriers vendors and consultants.
    • Participate in contract negotiations and ensure compliance with ERISA and Section 125 regulations.
    • Manage the health and welfare budget and invoicing for benefit plans.
  • Program Development and Communication:
    • Establish and manage wellness programs to improve employee health and reduce costs.
    • Manage benefits communication projects including enrollment and educational materials.
    • Manage the benefits call center.
  • Mergers and Acquisitions:
    • Perform due diligence analysis and coordination on acquisitions mergers and divestitures specific to benefits.
  • Subject Matter Expertise:
    • Act as a point of contact for escalation information and education for staff.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert for all retirement plans.
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • Initiate and direct special projects as needed.
    • Foster positive employee relations within the organization.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
  • Experience: 57 years of health and welfare benefits development coordination and compliance experience with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Expert knowledge of benefits regulations and government reporting requirements.
    • Proven experience in vendor management and benefits administration.
    • Exceptional management organizational interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong analytical problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulatory standards.
    • Proficiency in various computer software applications.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • SPHR or CEBS certification.
    • Previous healthcare experience.

  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports policies and correspondence.

Working Conditions:

  • Possible exposure to infectious/contagious diseases hazardous chemicals and materials.
  • Sedentary work with occasional light physical activity.
