Job Description
- Inspect assess and clean textile items in need of restoration ensuring proper handling and following the care labels on the garments.
- Collaborate with senior restoration specialists to determine appropriate restoration methods.
- Maintain organization of items throughout the restoration process.
- Monitor the condition of textiles throughout the restoration process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with industry best practices and safety standards.
- Previous experience in textile restoration conservation or a related field (preferred but not required).
- Attention to detail and the ability to work with fragile and valuable textiles.
- Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience following directions especially care labels on garments.
- Flexibility to work parttime hours with some evening or weekend shifts as needed.
- Ability to handle sensitive and valuable textiles with care.
- Ability to stand sit or kneel for extended periods while working with textiles.
- Manual dexterity to perform intricate restoration tasks.
- Ability to lift light to moderate loads of textile materials when required.
