Job Description

Job Summary

The department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the College of Pharmacys BioInnovations in Brain Cancer Initiative (BIBC) seeks highly qualified applicants for tenuretrack position at any level in brain cancer biology and technology research (including drug/molecular transport/imaging in the brain tissue cellular and exosome mediated therapies detection of cancer cells and biomarkers translationfocused glioma immune therapies epigenetics and/or 3D single cell transcriptomics bloodbrain disruption and drug/gene delivery.

The University of Michigan BioInnovations in Brain Cancer seeks to:

  • Promote and develop crossdisciplinary collaborations at the interface of drug technology and brain cancer research on campus.
  • Mentor the next diverse generation of scientists in an equitable and inclusive way.
  • Enrich the UMs intellectual and training environment around drug discovery technology and delivery targeted towards novel brain tumor diagnostics and therapeutics.
  • Leverage and coalesce the strengths of the UM technologists clinicians and brain cancer biology researchers ranging from novel drug delivery methods enhanced tissue imaging gene/immunotherapy controlled drug release cancer antigen and mutation detection nanotechnology and much more.
  • Provide a central organizational structure through the Biointerfaces Institute to provide common resources including core instrumentation and helping support collaborative research grants.

Responsibilities*

Candidates are expected to build dynamic independent research programs establish collaborative ties with other departments across the University and contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community. Applicants must demonstrate a strong record of leadership in research and professional activities a strong commitment to the educational objectives of the graduate professional and undergraduate degree programs at the College and articulate how they will support the Colleges mission to advance human health through innovation collaboration and leadership in pharmacy education scientific and translational discoveries and practice.

This position is posted as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor /Professor. The rank of the selected candidate will depend upon candidates qualifications.



The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D or other doctorate in brain cancer biology or relevant technology research.We seek applications from individuals working in cuttingedge areas of brain cancer research that will complement and expand upon our current areas of strength.
