The Opportunity
Marid Industries Limited is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in our Steel fabrication shop. The Maintenance team plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and facilities. This position requires a solid background in industrial maintenance and mechanical repair with a focus on keeping the shops machinery and equipment functioning optimally in addition to site equipment.
What youll do
Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines and equipment including welding machines saws presses cranes forklifts and other fabrication tools.
Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems across various equipment used in the fabrication process.
Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime in production.
Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of all equipment systems and facility infrastructure to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work is performed according to company safety protocols OSHA standards and best industry practices.
Parts Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts and supplies and ensure availability of necessary components for timely repairs.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Production Manager and other staff to coordinate repairs and maintenance schedules without affecting production timelines.
Facility Maintenance: Assist with general maintenance of the facility including the upkeep of lighting plumbing HVAC systems and other essential infrastructure.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work including repairs inspections and parts used to ensure compliance and track maintenance history.
Training and mentoring: As our team grows there will be an expectation to assist in training junior maintenance staff if applicable.
Emergency repairs: There will be the need for quick response times when there are emergency repairs needed to maintain production.
What youll need
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial or mechanical maintenance preferably in a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of welding machinery fabrication equipment and maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with hydraulic pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Basic knowledge of troubleshooting and repair for industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to perform repairs quickly and effectively.
- Excellent problemsolving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations within an industrial setting.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
Comfortable working in a noisy and fastpaced environment with exposure to welding fumes and industrial machinery.
