This position provides leadership technical expertise creativity and professional skills to manage a fire sprinkler crew. Responsibilities include planning organizing directing and coordinating all fire sprinkler system installation activities ensuring projects are completed on time within scope and to industry standards. Pipefitters and/or Helpers/Apprentices report to and are directly accountable to the Foreman.
As the key point of contact for project details the Senior Foreman is responsible for clear and timely communication with project managers clients and other stakeholders. Additionally the Senior Foreman is expected to mentor and train junior foremen leveraging their experience to develop team skills and improve overall performance.
Pipefitters and/or Helpers/Apprentices report directly to the Senior Foreman who ensures their work meets both safety and quality requirements. This role demands proactive leadership in problemsolving decisionmaking and ensuring compliance with relevant safety regulations and technical standards.
This position requires an individual with extensive experience in fire sprinkler system installation and a demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage multiple aspects of a crews operations.
Job Duties:
Direct and assist assigned crew in fabricating assembling installing and maintaining fire system sprinkler piping. Direct and assist in overhead pipe installation including steel overhead sprinkler piping wet dry preaction and deluge standpipe and hose systems. Direct and assist in installing and servicing valves devices and trim for system risers alarm valves dry pipe valves preaction and deluge valves backflow prevention devices and sprinkler system alarms Communicate with the Field Superintendent Project Manager Designers etc. in a positive manner to properly execute all construction plans and processes. Ensure accurate reporting of all hours worked for each crew member and forward completed timesheets to the office for processing. Ensure that all Toolbox Talks and Inspections Reports are completed weekly with your assigned crew and that the completed reports are turned in along with time sheets. Ensure projects finish on time within budget for labor and materials within the quality standards of PFP and to the satisfaction of the customer. Ensure thesystem test is complete (with completed documentation) before final inspection with the authority having jurisdiction. Communicate all change orders to the Field Superintendent including when said change orders are complete. Ensure all reimbursable travel time and expenses are accounted for accurately. Ensure crew members act professionally at each job site being respectful of other trades contractors service superintendents and property owners. Ensure each service project is conducted safely according to any OSHA regulations or federal state or local laws. Ensure job material waste is minimized. Ensure the proper PPE is worn by each assigned crew member every day. Attend Company meetings as required. Maintain the physical appearance of any assigned company vehicle in a manner that reflects the high standards of quality and craftsmanship of PFP. Other duties as assigned.

Expected Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

Education and Skill Requirements:
NICET Level II certification or equivalent experience in inspections is preferred; a North Carolina Inspection Technician License is mandatory. A minimum of 5 (five) years experience in direct fire protection system inspection with a variety of system types. This position requires a minimum offive 5 years experience performing as a foreman installing automatic sprinkler systems. Previous experience must demonstrate a proven record of accomplishment of effective leadership and crew management effective communication and of duties. Minimum OSHA 10hour certification required OSHA 30hour certification preferred. The incumbent must be knowledgeable with local state and federal OSHA regulations. The primary language spoken within our business environment is English. The position requires that the individual have the ability to communicate (read write and speak) in English at a level sufficient for a variety of people to understand clearly. The individual must possess the ability to read and write at a sufficient level to identify interpret and comprehend various construction drawings and documents. The individual must possess the writing skills sufficient to make notations and complete reports during the construction process. The individual must possess a valid drivers license and maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no significant violations.
Physical Demands:
The physical requirements of the job require that this individual regularly stand sit walk twist reach stoop and speak. It also requires the capability of using hand and eye coordination. The position requires the individual to occasionally walk across rough unfinished or unstable surfaces at construction sites the ability to climb stairs and ladders and the ability to stand and move in high or precarious places. The position requires the individual to regularly lift up to fifty 50 pounds while occasionally lifting up to 75 pounds.
The physical requirements of the job also require the individual tofrequently operate any power tools hand tools and manlifts normally associated with the type of construction performed by PFP.
The physical senses of sight hearing and speech are required. Vision requirements must be sufficient in order to read measurements from a tape measure or other small measuring tools and details from construction drawings.
Work Environment:
Work is regularly performed at job sites in which working conditions will vary requiring the individual to work in a variety of outdoor conditions. These conditions can include but not limited to hot cool cold humid rain freezing rain and possibly snow. Steeltoed boots hard hats protective gloves safety glasses ear plugs and reflective vests are required to be worn on the jobsite.
Noise levels at job sites can be from moderate to very loud depending upon the type of construction or trades working at the time.
This position requires daily travel to job sites. Travel time may be required (up to 10 for overnight or away stay.
The incumbent must adhere to company Policy and Procedures regarding dress code.
Authority:
The foreman directly supervises the helpers and/or pipefitters within their crew. They have the authority to recommend for hiring or termination of employment any direct reporting employees.
The foreman has the authority to make purchases for necessary tools or job materials. All purchases require approval from the Manager.
The service foreman has the authority to report to the Deficiency & Regional Manager and Vice Regional Manager any safety hazard or safety violation based upon PFPs actions or the actions of other trades or individuals at a job site.
