The Metropolitan Water Districts Water System Operations Group has two openings for Operations & Maintenance Technician IV Electrical located at the Jensen Treatment Facility (Granada Hills CA).
This recruitment will be used to build an Eligibility List at the following locations: Diemer (Yorba Linda CA) Jensen (Granada Hills CA) Lake Skinner (Winchester CA) Mills (Riverside CA) and Weymouth (La Verne CA). This list will be valid for 6 months from the date a candidate accepts the position.
As an Operations & Maintenance Technician IV Electrical you will install maintain and repair a wide range of electrical systems supporting water utility and facility operations. In this journeylevel position you will maintain and improve electrical systems in and associated with pumps turbines generators transformers motors and associated facilities and processes including high voltage overhead and underground electrical distribution systems.
In this position you will monitor electrical equipment and systems for operating condition and performance including predictive and advanced diagnostic testing conduct preventive and corrective electric maintenance and improve electrical capacity and upgrade systems to meet treatment conveyance and distribution electrical operating demands.
Key responsibilities include maintaining and improving a variety of electrical components and equipment related to Metropolitans assets systems supporting facilities and infrastructure including those within treatment and pump plants conveyance and distribution structures reservoirs hydroelectric plants and rightofways. Additionally you will ensure ongoing reliability and uninterrupted electrical service necessary to convey store treat and distribute water and hydroelectric power effectively to member agencies and other customers.
Schedule: 4/10 Monday Thursday OR Tuesday Friday 6:00 AM 4:30 PM PST

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience: High school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency in addition to a minimum of 6 years in an electrical maintenance position in a pump plant treatment plant hydroelectric or conveyance and distribution facility or similar environment.
OR
High school diploma or a certificate of high school equivalency in addition to the attainment of journey level skills through a recognized electrical trade training program.
Journey level experience as demonstrated by practical application of general and advanced techniques and practices specific to the operation maintenance and repair of electrical systems in treatment or pump plants conveyance and distribution power generation systems and related apparatus.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
License(s):Valid California Class C Drivers License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
Employees in this position may be required to obtain and maintain the following certifications licensing and registrations:
Valid Drivers license from state of residency equivalent to a California Class A and/or B with appropriate commercial license endorsements.
