Job Description

Essence of the job:

The Field Mechanic inspects machines for preventative maintenance diagnoses problems for repairs on breakdowns and plans all relevant work in conjunction with site programs.

Qualification:

Red Seal Qualification Diesel Mechanic

Code 10 Licence.

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years post red seal experience

Huge advantage if the person holds experience working on Piling machines

Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English language)

Read electrical and hydraulic diagrams

Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe work procedures

Understand and apply mechanical principles

Knowledge of machines and tools including uses operation repair and maintenance

Troubleshooting and identifying causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it

Repairing and maintaining Mechanical Equipment (Servicing repairing adjusting and testing machines and equipment)

Watching gauges dials or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly

Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job (Equipment selection)

Operating Vehicles Mechanized Devices or Equipment using direct physical activity

Planning organizing prioritizing and time management skills

Piling experience is an advantage
