Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to production-assigned machinery to improve equipment reliability & glove quality as part of the maintenance team. This position is 3rd shift hours are 11 pm-7 am and must be availableto work weekends if scheduled. The pay rate begins at $24 p/hr. plus3rd shift differential.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for daily plant maintenance in the following areas: electrical; electronics; and machine maintenance.
- Responsible for equipment and building maintenance for processing and building infrastructure (utilities MCC fire safety compressed air boiler alarm MIS forklift fleet HVAC etc.)
- Performs machine set-up and repair assembly and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment.
- Install debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
- Assist in Production/Maintenance-related assignments as needed.
- Communicate regarding issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
- Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance Manager to monitor equipment performance i.e. work orders time cards
- Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Manager.
- Participate in overtime assignments as required.
- Provide on-call coverage as needed.
- Perform other various similar and related duties as required by the Manager.
Qualifications
- Must have HS Diploma or GED. Associates Maintenance Technology field preferred and or equivalent Education Experience and Training.
- 1-5 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Through knowledge of Maintenance jargon GMPs MaintenanceBest Practices Knowledge; OSHA safety etc.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints safety rules operation and maintenance instructions manuals and schematics.
- Experience/Certification in any of the following areas desirable: electrical machinist welding PLC Control Systems and networks.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- The job is performed in production areas where the person will be exposed to strong aromas andairborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being usedand will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.
