You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailGENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
The incumbent will assist the principal investigator (PI) in conducting analyses on the relation of modifiable factors (diet behavior or medication) genomic proteomic and metabolomics biomarkers and prognostic risk factors in cancer and chronic disease pathophysiology causal networks and pathways. The incumbent will target to independently develop research questions and conduct pilot studies to translate the scientific knowledge into clinical health promotion practice. Conducts independent statistical analyses for study investigator. Summarizes research findings interprets results writes manuscripts as primary author and make presentations at divisional meetings/conferences. Supports PI in grant writings. Conducts literature reviews and additional tasks as needed. This position involves meeting with the PI (Dr. Jing Ma) weekly and overseeing and meeting with cohort statistician to complete analyses.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1)Develop analytic protocols data analysis of clinical demographic questionnaire and biomarker on evidence summary of disease prevention and treatment using Physicians Health Study data as well as other cohortbased research such as BP3 research.
2)Conduct independent statistical analysis. Summarize results in tables and graphs. Write manuscripts presenting data results and interpretation of findings.
3)Develop clinical health promotion project proposals and program evaluation.
4)Conduct literature reviews and write up reports.
5)Contribute to manuscript and grant writing.
6)Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
MS in epidemiology. Ph.D. in epidemiology preferred. Minimum of six years of experience in SAS and data analysis required. Research experience in an academic setting required.
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
1)Must have knowledge of medical terminology as well as good general written and verbal skills. High degree of communication skills and ability to speak professionally on the telephone with participants and physicians.
2)Must have the ability to work independently and in a timely fashion.
3)Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of the job is necessary to obtain valid research results.
4)Needs ability to relate and work well with individuals from various backgrounds and fields of expertise.
5)Must have experience with computers and word processing skills.
6)Must have data analysis skills and experience using SAS.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Research academic office environment (Normal office environment)

Oversee NHSII cohort statistician conducting data analyses
