Job Description

Job Summary

As a Sr. Director of Global HR for IPA you will lead and oversee the human resources function across multiple countries and regions contributing to the development and leading the implementation of global HR strategies and policies supporting HR and management staff around the world and ensuring alignment with organizational and programmatic goals. Responsibilities

Global HR Operations:

  • Develop and implement HR policies procedures and best practices globally ensuring consistency and compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Manage the HRIS and other HR systems ensuring data accuracy and security.
  • Develop and implement HR metrics and reporting to track key performance indicators.

Talent Acquisition retention and development:

  • Support and oversee the development and deployment of strategies for attracting developing and retaining talent including incorporating the Competency Framework into the employee lifecycle; refining the performance management process; and overseeing the Learning and Development function.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Oversee compensation and benefits ensuring competitiveness and compliance globally.
  • Regularly update and maintain equitable and transparent compensation structures across all Country Offices and the US.

Employee Relations:

  • Lead Employee Relations and address complaints.
  • Provide counsel to managers on appropriate methods of addressing performance management issues.
  • Foster an engaging organizational culture that promotes talent retention.

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead and manage the Global HR team
  • Provide dottedline oversight to and support and build the capacity of HR staff in Country Offices; assist in articulating global HR policy at the country and regional level.
  • Oversee Human Resources for USbased and remotelybased staff coordinating as relevant with Employers of Record and PEOs.
  • Advise the SMT on how to costeffectively strengthen the HR function across the organization.
  • Continue building an inclusive engaged and collaborative workplace help to instill cultural awareness and sensitivity across IPA through human resources best practices.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree required. Advanced degree preferred. Certifications in HR helpful (SPHR GPHR)
  • At least 10 years of leadership experience with 5 years leading an HR function.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing people and teams of various sizes in dispersed locations preferably across different regions among Africa Asia and Latin America demonstrating strong cultural awareness.
  • International notforprofit/nongovernmental (NGO) experience is strongly preferred.

  • Has an innovative mindset with the demonstrated ability to develop new ways of working to optimize work and performance.
  • Drives initiatives with limited resources and rollup your sleeves attitude to achieve desired results.
  • Listens well is responsive solutionfocused and resultoriented.
  • Experience with change management is preferred.
  • Full fluency in English. Fluency in Spanish and/or French is preferred.

Location

Possible locations: Colombia Cote dIvoire Ghana Kenya Mexico Nigeria Peru Rwanda Tanzania Uganda United States (NY or DC). Slight preference for Colombia Ghana Kenya Nigeria.

Please note that if you do not have permanent work authorization in the preferred country to be based IPAs ability to provide a work permit differs by country.

Compensation

IPAs compensation structure is designed based on the labor market for the specific geographic location where the employee is located. The salary will vary depending on IPAs salary scale ranges for that specific location. For example we are offering the following salary ranges for this position:

  • For a Colombiabased employee: the starting annual gross salary isCOP with a maximum ofCOP.
  • For a Kenyabased employee: the starting annual gross salary isKES with a maximum ofKES.
  • For a USbased employee the starting annual gross salary is 124700 USD with a maximum of 165000 USD.

Actual base salary may vary based upon but not limited to relevant experience base salary of internal peers business sector and geographic location.
