Experienced Software Engineer

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced Software Engineer to join the CCTS Starliner team located in Houston TX. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization.

Our dynamic team is responsible for the realtime embedded software for the Boeing CST100 Starliner program. In this role you will engage in the software agile lifecycle collaborating closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality solutions that meet stringent safety and performance standards. Your expertise will be invaluable as we enhance Starliner capabilities fostering an environment of continuous improvement and innovation. By working alongside talented engineers and stakeholders you will contribute to the success of this groundbreaking program ensuring that our software not only meets the needs of today but also paves the way for future advancements in space exploration.

Position Responsibilities
Implements deploys and maintains software systems for vehicle management applications in compliance with internal and industry standards processes and regulations.
Partners with crossfunctional engineering teams to identify review and inform requirements and specifications for vehicle management.
Develops and maintains software documentation including design documents user manuals and technical specifications.
Investigates and resolves vehicle management softwarerelated issues reported by users or that occurred during system operation.
Provides input on software implementations during systemlevel design and architecture.
Performs verification validation and integration processes for vehicle management software in compliance with internal and industry standards and regulations.
Develops test plans and test cases for vehicle management software validation.

This position is expected to be 100 onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Houston TX.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

5 years of experience with programming on an embedded or realtime operating system (VxWorks Integrity 1553 or SpaceWire) protocols
5 years of experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git JIRA Collaborator Beyond Compare and VersionOne
5 years of experience with Oracle/SQL for application interactions with databases
5 years of experience in C C# C Java Python or Visual Basic

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology) chemistry physics mathematics data science or computer science
Knowledge of industry military and government specifications handbooks and standards.
Knowledge of domains characteristics constraints and products that require realtime software and influence architecture requirements interfaces designs and integration/test approaches. Realtime domain examples include control systems human interfaces and signal processing. Examples of characteristics and constraints that impact realtime software include hardware/software timing sizing bandwidth optimization and synchronization. Examples of products include aircraft missiles airborne/shipboard/space systems/groundbased operational systems and realtime support systems such as simulators and training systems.
Knowledge of realtime target environments including processor and network architectures communication protocols simulation frameworks and electrical interfaces. Ability to build integrate and troubleshoot software components.
Ability to understand the big picture and the interrelationships of all positions and activities in the system including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the interrelationships between components of systems and plans anticipate future events and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance.
