Job Description
The Indiana University Libraries seek a dynamic innovative and collaborative individual to support outreach engagement teaching and learning activities at the Education Library. The Outreach & Engagement Librarian connects students faculty and instructors and the broader community with the IU Libraries expertise and wealth of resources. In addition to developing creative and innovative programming and engagement initiatives the librarian will contribute to IU Libraries initiatives that support diverse equitable inclusive and accessible work environments services and collections. They will also establish opportunities to promote and integrate library resources and services create partnerships with students faculty and community members and contribute to reference consultations and information literacy instruction activities at the Education Library. The Outreach & Engagement Librarian is a Libraries Research & Learning division member and primarily supports students and faculty affiliated with the IU School of Education community. RESPONSIBILITIES Promote the Libraries culture of diversity and inclusion and support the values outlined in the IUB Libraries Diversity Strategic Plan. Actively engage with faculty instructors students and colleagues to develop and maintain strong working relationships contribute to collaborations and establish partnerships. Contribute to the research teaching and learning activities of students and instructors at the Education Library. Develop opportunities to promote library services and resources to groups classes faculty and students. Design and offer programming in the form of exhibits workshops and discussions both online and in person in support of research programs student scholarship or other campus initiatives. Design and provide research and information literacy instruction in support of student learning outcomes Create instructional materials and learning objects that support students learning outcomes. Collaborate with Libraries colleagues to develop and assess outreach and engagement initiatives goals and outcomes. Participate with colleagues across the IU Libraries to advance broader research and learning programs and initiatives Provide reference and research consultations as needed and respond to referrals promptly Provide circulation and access services support as needed May contribute to collection management tasks in coordination with subject librarians May hire train supervise and evaluate undergraduate and graduate student employees and monitor a student employee budget
