The Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre is a place of hope grounded in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customs values spiritual connection to ancestral lands seas and waters and cultural knowledge. It offers a culturally safe and welcoming environment where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people can access support for their mental health and social and emotional wellbeing. The Centre takes a holistic whole person approach that respects and includes traditional healing methods. Staff are culturally aware trauma-informed recovery-focused and provide warm non-judgemental and compassionate care.
Centre Implementation:
Our centre is set to officially commence service delivery October 2025.
We are now recruiting passionate enthusiastic staff who are not only committed to delivering accessible and culturally safe care but who are also excited by the unique opportunity to help shape something from the ground up.

Location: While our permanent centre is being established in the CBD positions will be based at Sonder Marion and Sonder Port Adelaide.

The Community Engagement Manager leads the design delivery and evaluation of culturally safe trauma-informed and community-led engagement strategies for the Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing Centre. This role ensures that the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples - particularly those with lived experience - are embedded in all aspects of service development delivery and evaluation. The Manager works in partnership with Elders families and community organisations to promote the centre mental health literacy reduce stigma and strengthen cultural connection.
Experience Requirements:
This position is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Identified position and is exempt under the Equal Opportunity Act (1984). The position will only be open to those who identify as of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
Demonstrated leadership experience in community engagement or cultural development within Aboriginal community settings.
Background in designing and delivering culturally informed programs or events in health mental health or community services.
Proven experience in facilitating co-design with Aboriginal communities.
Experience representing Aboriginal organisations in forums partnerships or interagency collaborations.
Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from regional and remote communities is highly desirable.

Immunisations is accordance to SA health Immunisation Policy
Marketing and Communications Qualification or equivalent experience
