Job Description
The Tepper School of Business () at Carnegie Mellon University invites qualified individuals to apply for a tenuretrack faculty position in Operations Management commencing September 1 2025. Individual should be able to make significant contributions to the Tepper Schools strategic research and educational initiatives in at least one of the following areas: AI in Business (e.g. large language models machine learning humanAI collaboration etc. as research methodologies and/or as research topics) Economic Prosperity (e.g. equilibrium effects of technological innovation economic inequality) and/or Entrepreneurship (e.g. disruptive innovation venture capital government policies promoting startups). This search is in support of the Tepper Schools strategic plan ( The position rank is at the experienced Assistant or untenured Associate level. Salary and rank are commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Applicants should have both a completed Ph.D. in 2023 or earlier and also prior work experience as a faculty member at a university or as a researcher in industry/government with a record indicating excellence in research and teaching in Operations Management. New PhDs will not be considered. Candidates from all fields of Operations Management will be given consideration. Empirical theoretical and/or experimental methodologies are potentially suitable. Teaching assignments can encompass undergraduate MBA and Ph.D. programs.
