Assistant Professor Position in Political Science: Public Administration The Department of Political Science houses the NASPAA accredited Master of Public Affairs MPA program. Offering concentrations in community & economic development local government and nonprofit management the MPA program primarily serves the local region through an oncampus program. As part of the departments graduate programming we offer an online graduate certificate program in nonprofit management and an oncampus graduate certificate program in urban and economic development. The MPA program primarily serves the local region through courses offered oncampus during the evening. This position will add to the departments faculty that emphasizes high quality studentcentered undergraduate and graduate education maintains a strong research agenda and engages in meaningful service within the University (including a strong commitment to student mentoring) the profession and the community. Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must hold or anticipate a Ph.D. in Public Administration Public Policy Public Affairs Political Science or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates who best fulfill our instructional and programmatic needs in public budgeting and financial management urban economics (or economic development more broadly) and quantitative analysis for public administration. We also are interested in candidates with an ability to teach courses in local government management.
