Salary Information:The salary range is $49911$109469 per the Faculty CBA Salary Scale. Teachers will be hired and employed in the highest category of teaching staff to which they are entitled in accordance with the degrees and certifications that they hold and the subjects and levels that they teach.

Duties And Responsibilities:
These duties and responsibilities are intended only as examples of the various duties to be performed. For example teaching positions are campusbased; therefore this position requires teachers in person.
Develop students skills in listening speaking reading and writing; foster communication skills; develop an understanding and appreciation of the literature of all types; motivate students to read a wide variety of publications to derive information; comprehend and critically assess the reading materials and to promote the development of skills in the field of English reading grammar and syntax.
Each teacher is responsible for all aspects of teaching and learning for those classes and students assigned to them. This involves organizing and administering the classes preparing lesson plans and teaching within the school guidelines. In addition each staff member is responsible for promoting highquality standards throughout their work particularly maintaining high achievement standards and encouraging all students to fulfill their potential through effective teaching and high expectations.
Develop curriculum instructional materials assessment tools and lesson plans according to students needs and interests fulfilling the IB curriculums criteria and U.S. policies. Evaluate students academic performance behavior social development and physical health and maintain accurate and complete student records.
Provide remedial programs for students who still need to achieve language competency commensurate with their potential. Meet with department colleagues to evaluate student placement test results monitor and assess student performance throughout the year to determine each students current placement level and discuss other departmental concerns.
Participate in appropriate inservice programs or other professional development parentteacher conferences and faculty meetings as required or requested.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelors degree (advanced degree preferred) in Education with an emphasis in English/Language Arts. Certification in the subject area is strongly preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
An educational background and teaching experience in literature creative writing or literary theory are highly valued pathways for this position.
Experience in an international school or crosscultural environment is desired.
