Job Description

Primary Purpose
Reporting to the Vice President for Diversity Equity and Inclusion the Assistant Director of Intergroup Dialogue and Restorative Practices at University of the Pacific plays a crucial role developing a universitywide intergroup dialogue program for the campus community. This role supports the universitys efforts to resolve conflict strengthen relationships and foster a sense of community and belonging by introducing and implementing education training and discourse that are grounded in intergroup dialogue and restorative practices. This position works collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups and across all three campuses (Stockton Sacramento San Francisco) providing specialized expertise and programming to promote understanding healing and accountability.

Essential Functions
Design and implement intergroup dialogue programs that facilitate constructive conversations across differences focusing on issues related to identity intersectionality and power dynamics. Introduce and promote restorative practices within the context of bias response working to build a culture of accountability repair and healing. Support the Director in developing and delivering training sessions and educational workshops for students faculty staff and administrators on topics such as intergroup communication restorative justice principles and conflict resolution strategies. Identify opportunities for innovative and responsive educational programming or interventions that advance ODEIs mission. Build and maintain partnerships with campus stakeholders including student organizations academic departments and administrative units to integrate intergroup dialogue and restorative practices into existing initiatives. Provide ongoing support and resources to individuals and groups involved in bias incidents offering guidance on restorative processes dialogue facilitation and conflict resolution techniques. This position serves as Campus Security Authority CSA as outlined by the Clery Act. CSAs have federally mandated responsibilities to report crimes that are reported to them. University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity equity and inclusion is foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. We prioritize policy and decisionmaking that demonstrates awareness of and responsiveness to the ways sociocultural forces related to race gender ability sexuality socioeconomic status etc. impede or propel students faculty and staff.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g. criminal justice ethnic studies peace studies psychology social work sociology). Five 5 years of work experience with diverse populations in higher education or relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree or advanced coursework in a relevant field. Experience working in a higher education setting or similar institutional context. Training or certification in restorative practices conflict resolution or related fields. Advanced experience developing and implementing training curricula on identity intersectionality and justice frameworks. Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks related to bias response and diversity equity and inclusion programming. Experience with program evaluation and assessment methodologies. Experience developing and implementing diversity equity and inclusion initiatives. Strong understanding of issues related to identity power dynamics privilege and oppression. Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in a fastpaced environment. Deep understanding of issues related to identity belonging and power dynamics within institutional settings. Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice equity and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Schedule
Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: Work performed primarily in a standard office environment. Work performed during standard business hours but may require occasional evenings and weekend hours for various Department Division or University events.
