Job description: EngineerCharging Infra
Location: Bangalore

You will:
  • Develop Power electronic system platforms such as Motor controller DCDC converter eV charger and power management systems that integrate into our eV and charging infrastructure product portfolio
  • Carryout benchmarking activities for power electronic product platforms to evaluate differentiating factors such as performance cost safety efficiency reliability life maintainability & serviceability
  • Implement and validate compliance of interconnects and interfaces to functional requirements of power electronic subsystems
  • Leverage virtual design models & techniques (MatLAB/SIMULINK/PSIM) and prepare correlation reports between virtual prototyping and physical prototypes
  • Carry out detailed analyses such as WCA tolerance & sensitivity analysis on HW design for power electronic system platform(s)
  • Collaborate with firmware/SW development teams to define the state machine flowchart fault management communication & diagnostic requirements
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure HW design related to power electronic platform(s) comply with DFx xFMEA costing & sourcing guidelines
  • Participate in technical reviews for power electronic subsystem(s) design & provide resolution for technical issues through structured RCA procedures
  • Carryout boardbringup & Engineering verification tests debug and fix issues optimize performance through thorough characterization of power electronic HW platform(s)/subsystem(s)
  • Prepare review & present all technical documentation for power electronic HW design(s) including but not limited to concept & feasibility reports cost estimation Material selection & safety xFMEA WCA Circuit simulation Prototype Build reports Assembly Instructions DFx Engineering test plans/reports Integration plan/report & compliance reports
  • Participate in program planning & design standardization discussions to minimize project and delivery risks
  • Participate in design standardization efforts for power electronics platforms

To be successful you will be expected to:
  • Deliver HW design for Power electronic subsystem(s) to manufacturing against target TTM cost & quality requirements
  • Perform review and document detailed technical analyses such as WCA tolerance and sensitivity analyses on HW design(s) for Power electronic subsystem(s)
  • Demonstrate compliance of HW subsystem design(s) for Power electronic subsystem(s) to functional & manufacturability requirements & to departmental & organizational processes procedures and practice
  • Demonstrate the correlation of the engineering test results with design calculations & simulation results meet target thresholds/metrics for accuracy and coverage of engineering test and verification activities
  • Carry out RCA on EVT/DVT/Integration/validation/field/manufacturing/reliability/durability/servicerelated issues and implement CAPA
  • Support validation integration & reliability testing of Power electronic subsystem(s)
  • Design review and release schematics and PCB layout for Power electronic subsystem design(s)
  • Carry out/assist regulatory and safety certification/precompliance testing activities on HW platform design(s) for Power electronic subsystem(s)

You must have:
  • Minimum B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with experience of working on Charger or charging Infrastructure for Electric Vehicles
  • 3 years of experience in the design & development of power electronics product platforms such as Switched Mode Power Supplies BMS Battery Chargers Motor Controllers Inverters & Power Converters
  • Fair understanding of device technologies/characteristics & concepts such as power semiconductors magnetics control systems analog circuit design signal conditioning circuit design MCU/DSPs & serial communication interfaces
  • Strong knowledge in analog circuit design & interface designs with various serial communication protocols such as CAN I2C SPI & UART
  • Handson experience in designing signal conditioning circuits with peripherals ADC PWM/Timer & GPIO on a variety of HW platforms & devices
  • Basic knowledge of SPICE/PSIM/SIMULINK/MATLAB/SABER circuit simulation & Mathcad
  • Knowledge of the magnetics design & small signal modelling/control systems design for power electronic systems. Awareness of principles of Digital control methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of gate drive circuit design thermal management of power semiconductors DFx guidelines global safety/regulatory standards PCB design
  • Familiarity of firmware architecture flow charts & state diagrams
  • Working Knowledge on LiIon cell characteristics & Battery management systems
  • Handson experience in usage of test and verification tools/equipment including but not limited to DSO DMM Power Supplies LCR Meters Network Analyzer Protocol analyzers & Debuggers
  • Working knowledge of measurement system analysis & process capability analysis
  • Very good Problemsolving documentation & communication skills
  • A passion for automotive electronics/EV and an awesome teamspirit
