Job Description
Overview
The Sr. Consultant SAP ABAP HANA plays a pivotal role in enhancing the organizations SAP capabilities particularly focusing on ABAP programming within the HANA environment. This position is crucial for ensuring that robust efficient and optimized solutions are developed and implemented that drive overall business performance. The consultant will collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Expertise in HANA s inmemory database technology enables the consultant to leverage advanced data modeling techniques contributing to datadriven decisionmaking.
Additionally strong analytical and troubleshooting skills are necessary to address complex technical challenges and improve system efficiencies. As a senior member of the consulting team the consultant will also play a key role in mentoring junior staff ensuring knowledge transfer and development of best practices. Ultimately this position not only supports the business but also contributes to enhancing the overall SAP landscape within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop ABAP programs in HANA.
- Optimize existing code for improved performance.
- Perform data modeling and database design in HANA.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Create technical documentation for developed solutions.
- Conduct unit testing and ensure quality assurance.
- Debug and resolve technical issues and performance bottlenecks.
- Develop custom reports and interfaces according to user specifications.
- Work closely with functional consultants to integrate ABAP solutions.
- Provide support during system upgrades and migrations.
- Conduct training sessions for endusers and junior consultants.
- Participate in project planning and estimation activities.
- Assist in the implementation of SAP best practices.
- Implement security best practices in ABAP development.
- Stay updated with the latest SAP technologies and trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong knowledge of HANA database architecture.
- Experience in SAP modules (e.g. MM SD PP).
- Proficient in objectoriented ABAP programming.
- Knowledge of web services and APIs in SAP.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in a consulting role preferred.
- Ability to mentor and guide junior consultants.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in team environments.
- SAP certification in ABAP or HANA is a plus.
- Willingness to travel as needed for projectrelated activities.
- Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.
