Description
The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Primary Grade Supervising Teacher at Kilby Laboratory School. This position is an elementary teacher in the primary grades teaching all subjects to one class. In addition to working with elementary students the teacher will also supervise student interns accommodate clinical experiences in the classroom conduct classroom research serve on committees and participate in other jobrelated activities. The successful candidate must have a clear understanding of the Alabama Reading Initiative Alabama Math/Science/Technology Initiative College and Career Ready Standards and be committed to implementing innovative practice. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience based on the Alabama State Salary Matrix. Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. We have two open positions.
Essential Job Duties
- Teach all subjects to one class in the primary grades;
- Work with elementary students;
- Supervise student interns;
- Accommodate clinical experiences in the classroom;
- Conduct classroom research;
- Serve on committees as requested;
- Participate in other jobrelated activities;
- Implement innovative practices;
- Support the campus community;
- Participate in schoolwide professional development;
- Engage with the parentteacher organization (PTO);
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Masters degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education is required;
- Education Specialist (Ed.S. degree is preferred;
- Three or more years of teaching experience in grades K6 is required;
- Three years of teaching experience in grades P6 is preferred;
- National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification is preferred;
- STEM instructional experience is preferred;
- Current valid Alabama Professional Educator Certificate in elementary or early childhood education or the ability to obtain such through reciprocity is required.
