CBSE Librarian Teacher
The CBSE Librarian Teacher plays a crucial role in fostering a love for reading and learning among students while maintaining and managing the schools library resources. The Librarian will collaborate with teachers and students to support academic learning and information literacy in alignment with the CBSE curriculum.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Library Management:
- Catalog classify and maintain an organized library collection of books journals digital resources and other learning materials.
- Oversee the proper issuance and return of library resources.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and manage library acquisitions and disposals.
Student Engagement:
- Encourage students to develop reading habits and research skills.
- Organize book fairs reading programs and other literary activities.
- Provide ageappropriate book recommendations to students.
Academic Support:
- Assist teachers in sourcing reference materials to support classroom instruction.
- Conduct workshops on research methods citation styles and effective information retrieval.
- Foster information literacy by teaching students how to locate evaluate and use information effectively.
Technology Integration:
- Manage and promote the use of elibrary platforms and digital resources.
- Teach students and staff to use online databases library management software and digital tools.
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare library usage reports and submit them to school management.
- Develop and implement library policies and procedures.
- Maintain a conducive learning environment within the library.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Library Science (B.Lib./M.Lib..
- Certification or training in information literacy or library management (preferred).
- Knowledge of CBSE curriculum requirements and guidelines.
