Job Description
The Manager of Video serves as a key leader within Syracuse Universitys creative team. The Manager of Video will be responsible for both managing the video team and actively contributing to video production. This role requires handson expertise in shooting and editing alongside leadership responsibilities to guide the teams workflow and ensure strong processes for capturing and editing content. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the daytoday operations of the video team under the guidance and leadership of the ED of Multimedia. This video team is responsible for advancing the Syracuse University brand by bringing it to life through effective compelling and consistent multimedia storytelling and content generation. Oversees the endtoend creation of dynamic multimedia as part of a larger content strategy that aims to galvanize target audience in service of advancing University goals and priorities. Works collaboratively/in deep partnership with other marketing team members to ensure storytelling is strategically oriented coordinated and effective at achieving stated goals. Will help concept and partner with other members of the Division to conceptualize projects and bring them to fruition on time and on budget. This leader oversees both highend productions that are part of larger national campaigns or highprofile distribution plans as well as ensures team members are available and deployed daily to advance quickturn videos that highlight what is happening across the busy Syracuse University community.

Responsibilities
Serve as a handson leader actively involved in all stages of video production including shooting editing and postproduction. Manages daytoday operation of video team ensuring creative output brings the brand to life in meaningful and dynamic ways to advance the brand and organizational goals. Well versed in modern marketing trends and practices. Understands and can lead team to leverage multimedia to advance digital and content marketing programs. Works in deep collaboration with other leaders to move content strategies forward by assigning teams to move story ideas from concept through completion in a timely and effective way. Guides teams working on higherend productions setting/maintaining milestones and ensuring high quality content creation. Troubleshoots and removes obstacles to ensure timely and relevant content to go to market on our channels. Ensure brand strategy is brought to life effectively and consistently. Provides review and sign off on pieces presents some pieces for review to senior leadership. The manager is excellent at project planning and troubleshooting to ensure teams of shooters and editors are nimble resourceful and agile in moving dozens of projects with speed from concept through completion. The Manager is solutionoriented well organized an excellent communicator and pays great attention to detail. Collaborates closely with ED Multimedia. Provides creative leadership within group and across teams. Mentors and manages video team while providing structure and guidance. Works effectively with Creative Directors and other channel leads by contributing creative ideas and ultimately activating the team to deliver effective multimedia content while meeting creative and strategic standards. Works with ED of Multimedia to build and effectively implement strategic and operational plan for multimedia area. Understands technological needs and helps implement effective workflow within team tied to Workfront and other teams within the Division. Streamlines process and puts in place successful infrastructure particularly related to quick turn projects. Ensures product is delivered on time and on budget. Is an effective communicator. Works with Multimedia Manager to ensure that video resources are available daily for fasterturn projects. Partners with Manager of Photography to collaborate on important projects and initiatives. Partners with Director of Marketing Technology to put in place and leverage modern technology solutions. Responsible for ensuring systems allow for appropriate digitizing archiving and logging of multimedia content so it is searchable and well maintained. Tracks impact/engagement measures to guide creative decision making. Shapes bestinclass creative culture mentoring talent and facilitation of career growth. Other duties as assigned.
