Job Description

Overview

Location: Jewish Hospital

Hours: Friday/Saturday/Sunday 6 pm to 6:30 am

Jewish Hospital part of UofL Health is an internationally renowned hightech tertiary referral center developing leadingedge advancements in hand and microsurgery heart and lung care orthopedics and sports medicine neuroscience organ transplantation and outpatient care. The hospital is the site of the worlds first successful hand transplant and AbioCor implantable replacement heart procedures in addition to the first trial of adult cardiac stem cells in chronic heart failure. Jewish Hospital continues to be recognized for its specialized heart care procedures including the implantation of ventricular assist devices (VAD) and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The UofL Health Trager Transplant Center is in a select group of hospitals nationwide that perform heart lung liver kidney pancreas and hand transplantation. The center also includes a Pancreas Disease Center a GI Motility Clinic and Advanced Heart Failure and VAD programs.

Responsibilities

The CT Technologist performs computed tomography and diagnostic scans of designated anatomical areas in accordance with established practices and procedures. The technologist obtains patient history explains routine procedures addresses patient concerns and is responsible for maintaining patient records and files. They perform general CT procedures and assist with CT guided IVR procedures.

  • Performs computed tomography and diagnostic scans demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
  • Performs procedures to ensure quality patient care in accordance with Radiologists expectations and protocols
  • Ensures compliance with the National Patient Safety goals
  • Supports and reports any identified compliance matters

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology (required)

Experience:

  • Previous experience in CT (preferred)

Licensure:

  • Valid Kentucky Radiation Operators License (required)

Certification:

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)(required)
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Computed Tomography (CT) obtained within one 1 year of employment or transferring into position (required)

Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of hire (required)
