The Latner Thoracic Surgery Laboratories at the University Health Network in Toronto is inviting applications for a PostDoctoral Fellow. The successful candidate will lead a project exploring the role of mucosal immunology and tolerance in esophageal adenocarcinoma using murine and patientderived samples.
The candidate will be part of an integrative group including members from a comprehensive clinical program in esophageal cancer experts in esophageal adenocarcinoma patient derived organoid models cancer biologists transplant immunologists and bioinformaticians.
The candidate should have demonstrated experience in cancer immunology including the use of animal in vitro and patientderived models. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a similar field and work well in team environments with great interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication. The successful candidate will be supervised by clinicianscientist PIs.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development and maintenance of a murine model of esophageal adenocarcinoma
- Collect and utilize patientderived samples for study
- Keep appropriate records and documentation
- Analyze interpret and summarize data
- Assist in the preparation of publications conference abstracts and grant proposals

Qualifications :
- PhD in immunology
- Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills to execute research projects under PI guidance
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills for collaboration with team members and collaborators
- High degree of initiative creativity independence and leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong background in mouse models and design of immunological experiments
- Strong competency in laboratory data analysis and basic statistical methods
- Excellent problem recognition and problemsolving skills
- Willingness to learn and develop new methods and technologies
- Meticulous and detailoriented
- Excellent organizational leadership and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
