Job Description
Job Title:
College Counselor
Contract Length:
225 Days

Supervises:
College entry process
Primary Role:
The college counselor is responsible for administering all aspects of the college search and admissions process. Provide direction to underclassmen and their families regarding available option and requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in education
- Current North Carolina counseling license
- Previous counseling experience with children is preferred
Skills Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain knowledge base on admissions requirements for various colleges and post high school options.
- Provide knowledge based on financing options including scholarship award levels requirements and options.
- Meet with current families to discuss academic performance requirements course selection for desired major in college and test score requirements.
- Develop and strengthen relationship with colleges and universities
- Seek out and evaluate various testing options for students based on grade level usage by their institutions evaluation tools etc.
- Assist students with counselor forms recommendation letters and transcripts.
- Identify and assist students in applying for other eligible scholarships not open to the entire class
- Coordinate college entrance exam program for all TMSA Charter Schools students
