About the Brilla Schools Network
Brilla Public Charter Schools is a network of K8th grade schools that currently serves nearly 1600 students from Mott Haven University Heights and Highbridge in the Bronx. The network plans to grow from a current four elementary and two middle schools to four elementary and four middle schools educating some 4000 students in the Bronx. About El Camino Network
El Camino which means The Way in Spanish is an optional privatelyfunded Catholic afterschool faith formation program that is closely partnered with Brilla charter schools. El Camino helps children their families and their catechists to know love and serve Christ and His Church; develop the habits dispositions and beliefs that are indispensable to human flourishing and happiness; and live as disciples in this world and saints in the next. El Camino honors the teaching authority of the Catholic Church. Since 2013 over 260 children have been baptized through our program.
El Camino currently serves approximately 40 of Brillas students for 90 minutes a day Monday through Thursday. Children receive homework help from experienced teachers a nutritious snack and 30 minutes each of catechism and physical fitness. Additionally children and families have opportunities for shared and personal prayer and character formation. This video provides a snapshot of El Camino. El Camino will grow to serve children through 8th grade growing a grade level at a time each year.
About the Position
Reporting to the Middle School Superintendent the Instructional Specialist forMiddle School STEM is a fulltime member of the Seton Schools Team responsible for leading the vision systems and of math and science instruction across Brillas middle schools. This role is essential to ensuring all students are on track to master rigorous academic content and excel on the 8thgrade Math and Science Regents exams. Through collaborative planning instructional walkthroughs and campusbased coaching the Specialist prepares teachers and leaders to deliver contentrich standardsaligned instruction that reflects Brillas classical model and meets the demands of highstakes assessments.
The Specialist serves as a key instructional partner to school leaders supporting the development of teacher practice through direct coaching student work analysis and datadriven decisionmaking. This individual must be an excellent communicator capable of aligning staff across campuses around shared goals and providing actionable feedback to drive student achievement. Deep expertise in direct instruction STEM content and progress monitoring are essential along with a demonstrated commitment to forming students into young men and women of good character and spirit.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead the networkwide instructional vision and strategy for middle school STEM content with a focus on 8thgrade Math and Science Regents readiness
- Coach school leaders and teachers to strengthen instructional planning delivery and assessment in math and science classrooms
- Facilitate professional development and coplanning sessions that deepen teacher content knowledge and pedagogy
- Analyze student performance data and student work to inform instructional adjustments and reteach plans
- Conduct regular schoolbased walkthroughs and model effective instructional practices
- Collaborate with student services and student success teams to ensure academic equity for all learners
- Monitor school progress toward networkwide STEM targets and support necessary interventions
- Communicate clearly and consistently with instructional and operational leaders to align on goals priorities and instructional supports
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Desired Characteristics
Candidates for the position must possess the following personal characteristics:

- Strong knowledge of middle school STEM content particularly 8thgrade math and science standards and the expectations of the NYS Regents exams
- Proven track record of improving student achievement in STEM through highquality instruction and/or coaching
- Expertise in direct instruction student work protocols and data analysis to drive academic outcomes
- At least 3 years of experience coaching in a school setting ideally with demonstrated success in urban schools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to inspire influence and support teachers and leaders across multiple campuses
- Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree in education contentspecific field or school leadership preferred
- Ability to travel between our Bronx based campuses

The base salary range for this position is $115000 to $135000 per year along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical financial and other benefits. New hires will typically start at the lower end of this range depending on their relevant experience jobrelated knowledge skills and internal equity considerations. Compensation is determined based on our salary scales.
