Staff Quality Engineer - Linux

Job Description

Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Mountain View CA three times per week at minimum.

Position Overview:We are seeking a skilled Staff Quality Engineer with a strong background in Linux environments and a focus on security. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and executing comprehensive test plans and strategies to ensure the quality and security with a focus on automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute test plans test cases and test scripts for Linux applications and security features.

• Conduct security testing including vulnerability assessments penetration testing and compliance checks.

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify testing requirements and establish quality benchmarks.

• Automate test processes and frameworks to improve efficiency and accuracy in testing.

• Identify document and track defects and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the design and implementation of secure coding practices.

• Stay current with industry trends tools and best practices in QA and Linux security.

• Mentor junior QA engineers and provide guidance on testing methodologies and tools.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent work experience

• 9 years of experience in QA engineering with a focus on Linux environments automation.

• Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems and commandline tools.

• Experience with security testing tools and methodologies.

• Proficient in scripting languages (Python) for automation.

• Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI).

• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker Kubernetes) is a plus.

• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills.

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

• Compensation:

  • The expected base compensation for this role is: $186000 $285300. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential:An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance job level and individual performance.
