Job Description

Senior Childcare Practitioner Childrens Residential Home

Location: Sunderland
Provision: Childrens Residential Home (Ages 717 EBD & Mild Learning Difficulties)
Hours: Condensed shifts 2 days on 4 days off) Includes sleepins
Salary:base 68 sleepins/month 52 per sleep)
Potential takehome: Up to 41184 per annum

About the Role

Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career Or are you already a Senior Practitioner seeking a new challenge

As a Senior Childcare Practitioner you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) and Mild Learning Difficulties (MLD). You will be a role model mentor and key worker ensuring the best possible care and outcomes for the children.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a wellestablished and growing organisation with a strong Ofsted Good track record and a commitment to achieving Outstanding ratings.

What Were Looking For

Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent see below)
Experience working with children in residential care or similar settings
Ability to manage challenging behaviours and create a nurturing environment
Full UK Driving Licence (Essential)
Fluency in English (with the ability to understand UK dialects)
Minimum Age: 22/23 (in line with regulatory requirements)

Alternative Qualifications Considered:
If you hold a Level 3 Diploma in Adult Social Care we will consider your application if you can demonstrate experience working with children.

Key Responsibilities

Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs in a residential setting
Act as a positive role model and key worker helping children develop essential life skills
Promote a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages growth and independence
Contribute to care planning behaviour management and safeguarding processes
Support less experienced staff and lead shifts as required
