Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Working Clinical Manager responsible for deliver of quality patient care that promotes safety and wellbeing of patients. Plans directs coordinates and evaluates the overall daily flow of patients through the Hospital and HOPD ORs. Organizes plans and directs nursing service functions and activities. is responsible for policies and procedures of nursing care and ancillary services and staff education and competency development. Ensures compliance with nursing care standards established by commissions federal state and local regulatory agencies and adherence to institutional objectives and policies pertaining to nursing. Maintains open communication with all staff to promote improvement in performance. Works cooperatively with: Physicians CEO Chief of Staff Anesthesia Department Chair Surgery Department Chair Chief Nursing Officer Senior Director of Perioperative Services Charge Nurses Clinical and Nonclinal Leadership employees patients and other healthcare professionals. Gives direction to: Perioperative Charge Nurses and surgical services staff. Receives direction from: Chief Executive Officer Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Director of Perioperative Services.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of a accredited nursing program
  • Bachelors of Nursing degree preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 25 years experience in the Operating Room setting.
  • Must be able to circulate all services and cases provided at the Hospital

LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • MT RN licensure
  • CNOR certified preferred

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Requires knowledge of federal and state regulatory agency standards related to perioperative areas.
  • Cognitive and technical knowledge and the ability to progressively manager care delivery across the continuum of care within the perioperative setting.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing principles and procedures AORN and AAMI standards and principles of asepsis.
  • Coaching and counseling of subordinates
  • Time management and delegation
  • Interviewing and strong human resources knowledge
  • Exceptional communication skills required
