Are you ready to take on a key leadership role at one of the most impactful nonprofit organizations in the Kansas City metro The Family Conservancy (TFC) is seeking a Vice President of Finance to join our dynamic team. As a trusted leader in the community TFC has been strengthening families supporting early education and promoting economic stability for 145 years. We are a missiondriven organization dedicated to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive and we need an experienced finance executive to help guide our financial strategy and sustainability.

As Vice President of Finance you will play a crucial role in sustaining this vision ensuring financial strategies align with our longterm goals and community impact.
The Opportunity
As the Vice President of Finance you will be a key member of the executive leadership team overseeing the financial health of the organization. You will manage financial planning budgeting compliance and strategic financial initiatives to ensure TFCs longterm success. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of nonprofit financial management grant funding and regulatory compliance.
Team Structure & Direct Reports
As Vice President of Finance you will oversee the Accounting Team. You will lead a team of approximately 67 finance professionals providing guidance oversight and professional development. Your leadership will ensure that the finance team operates efficiently and effectively to meet the organizations financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic financial leadership ensuring fiscal health and sustainability.
- Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial reporting processes.
- Lead financial compliance efforts including grant management and audit readiness.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic initiatives and financial planning.
- Manage and mentor the finance team to support operational excellence.
- Act as a key liaison to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee.
Education and Experience:
- CPA certification or a bachelors degree in accounting business fiscal management or a related field required.
- Minimum five years of relevant accounting experience in a handson management role.
- Notforprofit and grant accounting experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
- Experience managing teams and working with executive leadership and boards.
