The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for a student to join our Museum on the Boyne team from May to August.

This position assists the Supervisor Culture with all aspects of museum services including tours exhibit design and working with the collection. They also provide support with museum events and programs when necessary.
How you contribute to our organization:
- Take a lead role in greeting the public and running interpretive tours.
- Assist with researching designing and mounting exhibits on local history.
- Assist with collections management including condition reporting artifact research and data entry.
- Respond to telephone and inperson enquiries about the museum.
- Assist with educational programs when required.
- Assist staff at special events such as Canada Day.
- Perform other duties as required.
What you bring to the team:
- Some college/university in Museum Studies or related field required.
- Ability to submit a clean Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire.
- Emergency First Aid with CPRC is preferred.
- Customer service experience required. Previous experience in a museum setting an asset.
- Knowledge and/or experience with research and/or artifacts an asset.
- Superior communication and organizational skills required.
- Ability to work independently and to meet deadlines.
- Must be under 30 years of age and returning to studies as wages for this position are subsidized by grant funding.
Wage: $17.63 $18.51 plus 4 vacation pay and optional enrolment in OMERS pension plan
Hours: 35 hours per week 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. will be required to work weekends

Dates: May 13th August 30th 2025
