Job Description
A new career opportunity has become available for a qualified Mechanical Engineer at a wellestablished multidisciplinary consulting firm in Pretoria.
The Mechanical Engineer will work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture through to installation and final commissioning. The goal is to design and fabricate mechanical components of innovation and excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform a full lifecycle product development (design develop test prototypes manufacture and implement)
- Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
- Conduct experiments methodically analyse data and interpret results
- Identify formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
- Evaluate thefinal products overall performance reliability and safety
- Alter and modify the design to meet requirements andeliminate malfunctions
- Estimate the budget and scope of the project
- Prepare product reports and documentation
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of core concepts including mechanics kinematics thermodynamics materials science etc.
- Creativity and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Technical writing skills
- BEng/BSc/BTech in Mechanical Engineering
- 35 Years experience in the design of building services with specific experience in HVAC and/or fire services
- Pr Eng registration with ECSA or eligible to register professionally
