Ensures the Successful futures Housing participants and facilities are safe and follow all regulations and procedures. Works with a team to facilitate the Applied Life Skills curriculum to participants.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Provides safe and effective services
Adheres to policies related to safety and boundaries with service recipients.
Attends safety and abuse risk management training as assigned.
Adheres to procedures related to managing highrisk activities and supervising service recipients.
Reports suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements.
Adheres to policies and procedures related to Medication Administration for service recipients.
Maintains an environment wherein participants feel safe and secure
Serves as a communication link between and among participants Residential Education Professionals the Supervisor of Successful Living Housing and the Director of Successful Futures.
Advises participants on Housing Handbook rules safety procedures security precautions and community adjustment.
Provides emotional support prompting and encouragement to participants.
Ensures orderly cleanliving conditions by scheduling and supervising cleanup and submitting repair requests.
Provides onsite supervision and monitoring of Housing facilities.
Offers personal and professional guidance to participants.
Leads by example in terms of character integrity and level of maturity.
Checks in with participants regularly to ensure that things are going well and address any concerns they may have.
Reviews logs for safety (cameras overnight logs/checks safety checks).
Implements and maintains the Successful Futures Housing program with the goal of providing education resources and supports to participants
Implements individualized service plans and conducts Focus meetings with each participant.
Provides onsite support and coaching (Focus Meetings).
Submits reports surveys and evaluations.
Implements the Applied Life Skills Curriculum.
Plans and collaborates prosocial activities (i.e. celebrations holidays honoring birthdays holding traditions etc..
Coordinates with consumers including employers agencies and mentors
Provides transportation as needed.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must have the ability and desire to work with young adults.
Proven record of sound judgment and ability to work with individuals in a mature and responsible manner.
Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical psychological psycho/social educational safety and related criteria appropriate to the age of the youth being serviced in his/her assigned service area.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy.
Exhibits strong organizational skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum 21 years of age required.
Possess and maintain a valid drivers license with a good driving record required.
Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
College credits preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS EQUIPMENT USAGE WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must have and maintain sufficient mental acuity and physical strength agility and endurance to perform all job requirements (including stressful situations physically mentally and emotionally) encountered on the job without compromising the health and wellbeing of self fellow employees and participants.Must have sufficient vision hearing speech and the mobility to monitor young adults actively participate in safety procedures and participate in activities with participants. Specific requirements include but are not limited to the ability to push and pull at least 80 pounds of force lift up to 50 pounds carry safely up to 30 pounds as well as the ability to reach overhead bend and squat with ease. Examples of required activities include but are not limited to moving furniture climbing stairs cooking playing games; as well as the ability to safely transport young adults regardless of weather or time of day/night. Subject to outside environmental conditions occasionally and inside conditions frequently. Includes constant interruptions inappropriate behaviors and the potential for verbal and physical threats from young adults.
