Job Description

Applied is a leading valueadded distributor of bearings power transmission products engineered fluid power components and systems specialty flow control solutions and other industrial supplies serving MRO and OEM customers. With over 50 facilities located across Canada and 650 Associates Applied supports the steel mining forestry agriculture automotive oil and gas food processing power generation pulp and paper and transportation industries just to name a few. In addition Applied provides engineering design and systems integration for industrial fluid power and flow control applications as well as customized mechanical fabricated rubber fluid power and flow control shop services.
In this role you will provide our customers with expert assistance to a wide variety of questions and problems. Unlike most CSR roles you will build ongoing business relationships with our customers through repeated contact and consultation. As this is a service and parts center our ability to get customers business often depends on your ability to quickly and efficiently provide them with the right parts and/or solutions especially when customers are experiencing costly equipment breakdowns. You will also have duties that will require mechanical aptitude and a technical problemsolving approach.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Inside Sales responsibilities
- Directly engaged in all sales activities
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of the companys service offerings
- Build ongoing relationships with customers
- Responding to customer product inquiries both in person (branch) and via phone/email
- Providing support to the outside sales force
- Ensuring accurate timely order processing through the computerized order processing system
- Selection and conversion of mechanical components as well as basic system design
Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:
- Proven mechanical background
- A history of successful customer service
- Selfmotivated
- Enthusiastic and exhibits a positive attitude and desire to succeed
- Interest in customer satisfaction and desire to provide excellent service always
- Ability to multitask in a busy office environment while maintaining professionalism at all times
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Analytical and problem solving capability
- Computer literacy with focus on Outlook Word Excel and SAP
- SAP experience would be an asset
