Position Description
POSITION TITLE: IntermediateSpecial Education Stuctured Learning Classroom Paraprofessional
FLSA: Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:60 hours of verified college credit or successful completion of the Paraprofessional Praxis.
REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 Day contract.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Attend training as required by the district
- Work under the direction of the Structured Learning Classroom Teacher
- Communicates with supervising instructional staff and a variety of health care professionals and professional support personnel for the purpose of communicating progress and/or implementing IEP objectives.
- Provide personal care to students
- Accompany students to and from school activities indoor and outdoor and participate in activities as directed.
- Supervises individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Possess the ability to stoop kneel lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Assist students up/down steps and stairs and in/out of vehicles
Possess the ability to stand sit and walk for extended periods of time - Maintain student confidentiality
